Come Fly With Me!

27 Jan

The weather outside today is so gloomy and depressing, I really wish I didn’t have to work so I could stay in bed all day! Luckily, this week I found the best mixes on 8tracks that I will be listening to on repeat all day today and had to share them so I don’t lose the links in the future.  If you’ve never used 8tracks before, you need to get on it!  It’s just like Pandora but no ads, theres a playlist for literally everything, and you will discover so many new songs that you’ve never heard before!  The two playlists I’m sharing today consist of Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Bobby Darin, and Dean Martin.  Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!

Playlist #1= Love You Like An Old Record, created by Vironsusi

Playlist #2= Crooners, Swooners, and Timeless Classics, created by Cutienut

Amazing Birthday Gift Idea!

26 Jan

When I found this amazing birthday gift idea, I really couldn’t wait to use it one day.  This is such a sentimental gift that would work great for a birthday, a retirement, or even an anniversary!  Holly Burns from Nothing But Bonfires did a great job thinking of this gift idea for her father’s 60th Birthday and I hope everyone who tries this get the same reaction that she did! Enjoy!

Wedding Wednesday!

25 Jan

“Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in her shoe…”

How will you incorporate something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue into your wedding to ensure good luck in your future?  Like most brides, thinking about the something blue can be stressful for you if blue isn’t in your color scheme.  Here are my favorite ways to add a subtle hint of  ‘something blue’ on your big day:

Take it from Kate Middleton, the simplest way to add “something blue” is incorporating it into your wedding dress.  Whether you sew your wedding date into the fabric of your dress, or just a blue ribbon like the Duchess of Cambridge did this is a great way to add a subtle hint of blue.

Cinnamon Hearts!

24 Jan

Whether its Christmas, Birthdays, St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween, or Thanksgiving, my mom has decorations for everything!  One of my favorite things she decorates is a small, fake Christmas tree that she themes for every holiday.  At Halloween the “Halloween Tree” has orange string lights and black cats, crows, and pumpkin ornaments. For Christmas she goes back to white lights and fabric bows, felt candy canes, and snowmen ornaments and for Valentine’s Day she makes Cinnamon Hearts and ties them to the tree with red plaid bows! Since Valentine’s Day is coming right around the corner and we just finished our Cinnamon Hearts, I thought today would be the perfect time to share the recipe and a picture of the infamous “Valentine’s Day Tree!”

Pinning!

23 Jan

I hope everyone had a good weekend and could enjoy the snow! Here are my favorite pin’s from this past week!

1. Champagne Cork Countdown

This would have been perfect for a New Year’s Eve Party!! To use it during the year, it could be a cool decoration for a child’s birthday party (maybe hold off on the champagne corks, or spray paint them)  if you only use the numbers that apply to your child’s age

Need a gift idea for the man in your life?  I found this “man bouquet” on Pinterest and had to share it! It’s the perfect gift for any guy because it mixes their favorite things and looks pretty easy to make!  If your man isn’t a big drinker or cigar smoker, mix in other things he likes- sports items, fishing or hunting gear etc., just have fun with it!
